This was the best grumpy/cheerful story I’ve read in a while. Cade feels responsible for everyone, and when Willa enters the picture he finds her irresistible. She has a sunny disposition who rolls with the punches. Luke was adorable, and they bond over the summer while she’s his nanny. I loved this book. I can’t wait to read the rest of the stories about his family.

Once again, do I know anything more about ranching or being a cowboy? No. Have I ever worn cowboy boots? Also no. Would I «save some horses»?? 100%

Better than the first book, but I feel the story falls prey to the tell don’t show plague of books. No inferences can be made about anything because the author just tells us everything. He is hesitant about the relationship because his wife left him and he feels like a failure because he is so responsible and should take care of his wife. Like we could’ve inferred that, readers are not that dumb 😭. The banter was genuinely funny though and I like that Luke was an actual kid and not some philosophical genius at 5.
