I did not enjoy this book as much as I did the three before it. That being said, I still think it was a great book that tied everything together in an interesting way.
It was great to see Senlin and Marya reunite, but after 4 books, I expected more from that. I just found it odd that after going through all that to find his wife, he gets friend-zoned because he kissed Edith.  I get that Marya was "kidnapped", but Senlin was also a literal slave for a bit, so you might think it would even out a little. Then there's the fact that he had to cut ties with Eidith entirely and may never see the rest of his crew again (except for Adam, Voleta, and AI Reddleman) all because Marya couldn't be bothered to not go on a walk without anyone knowing and spontaneously adopting two Hod children after knowing them for about 5 minutes.  There were some parts that I didn't like or felt rushed, but for the most part, it was a good end to the series.

Great conclusion to the saga. I did not at all see what happened coming.

I loved this whole world

I wish I loved it, but the ending was so out of left field and jarring for me. While I can see the breadcrumbs left along the way, it felt too random, like too many new questions were posed and too many left unanswered.
The characters feel like they've somewhat regressed and the romantic subplot is not really satisfyingly resolved either way. It all just feels like a floppy jellyfish.

The pacing of the last part was atrocious too, I kept skipping chunks cause I was too intrigued to find out what happened, assuming we'd be able to resolve all the emotional stuff later. How wrong I was.

The writing was still beautiful, and I still love these characters. I just wish they'd been done better. Maybe the story staying more contained would have helped. I don't know, I feel slightly sad. This was one of my favourite series, I loved how things seemed to take a realistic amount of time and how the characters grew. This last book was a whistle stop tour and ended in a bit of a circle. :'/

What a bizarrely unexpected ending! I’m laughing as I think about how everything came down to that final launch into the stars and even though it seems completely out of left field it also is completely appropriate for the story we’ve been told!

The idea that the tower was just a source of power, how they talk about the resources it used… It makes sense!

I love (and hate) how Edith was left behind and is now the caretaker, I love how Voleta is still as lost but excited as ever, I am just so happy with this series!

Really hoping we see a new adventure soon!!
