love love love riley. need him so bad. i feel like lexi’s reluctance to date could have been foreshadowed more, when she ended up confiding in riley it felt a little unnecessary.

i also feel like riley’s suicidal thoughts were kind of brushed over? like yes it was talked about but in reality it’s more consuming than i feel what was written.

Love this series!!! Riley and Lexi were so cute I loved their journey and their relationship was so cute. Riley’s rehabilitation journey was really meaningful and lovely to read. I was almost in tears in the first 10% of the book. This series has such amazing found family and I just love all the couples! I cannot wait for the next 3 books like I’m chomping at the bit for the rest of this series

I do wish we would have gotten to see some more kinky shit like I don’t want you to talk about it I wanna read it. I think this may have been just a bit too long I started getting a little bored but overall I really liked it and love this series! I will say I think I’ve read too many books with the hyper-independent female lead lately and like I get it but also I don’t go to therapy or chill out lol.

Read if you love:
- Dual POV
- Hockey player x athletic trainer
- Forced proximity
- Friends with benefits
- Boy obsessed
- Injury rehab

Chelsea Curto keeps outdoing herself! She was inspired by someone very close to her who is an above-knee-amputee and her love for that person shows in the love, care, and respect she gave to Riley and his story. I became disabled in a short amount of time and I found Riley’s emotions to be very similar to my own experiences and that felt really validating. It’s not just the physical rehab that’s hard. It’s the grief and anger of feeling out of control and things you love being taken from you. Pairing Lexi with Riley makes so much sense. I really believe Riley when he said that he’s not really sure he would have trusted anyone other than her to be his first after the accident. She has proven she cares for him and that his new body is no less beautiful to her.

The DC Stars are no strangers to open door romance but Riley and Lexi kick it up a notch by exploring the k*nkier side of things 😏🪢 Lexi is suddenly interested in more  fun with him when she finds Riley’s rope stash. I think finding that and her curiosity was the push Lexi needed to surrender to her feelings. They get into other k*nky situations, too, but there’s also a balance with more sensual, emotional experiences that deepen their connection with one another.

I really liked this book. Riley is so sweet and adorable and his relationship with Lexi was beautiful. I do wish we got to see more of the actual relationship but I loved reading the story and I was rooting for Riley all along.
