A decent police mystery - the only reason I kept listening was bc the main character is gay. I enjoyed how messed up the family at the center of the mystery was. I needed something light and easy between other, more challenging reads, and this fit the bill.

I overall liked this book. It had me hooked in some spots and dragged out in others. Would definitely read from this author again.

Blah! Too much filler and pointless explanations. There was no suspense whatsoever. This book dragged on.

Where the Dead Sleep by Joshua Moehling
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Part two of the Ben Packard series.
Acting Sheriff Packard is called to the scene of Bill Sandersen’s murder. No one has real motive and things just seem off. In the midst of the investigation, Sheriff Packard finds himself a target and having to make a choice of whether or not to run for sheriff.
An overall good read for me. I found myself drawn into the story and not wanting to put the book down. There are some tie-ins with the first novel but could be read as a stand alone. I’m looking forward to part three.
