When I first read Magnolia parks all I could think is “why is Daisy such a b*tch?!” Now that I’ve read this I would like to redact that question. This was so good! The multi POV including Julian was fun to read (and sad obviously). The laundromat scene was written like a fairy tale and romanticized the normalcy Daisy yearned for which made me love it even more. I loved the comedy Tiller and Declan would sometimes provide, majority of characters in this book I wanted to be friends with which always results in me enjoying a book. The cliff hanger with Christian and Daisy has me reeling and cannot wait for the great undoing… hopefully I don’t regret saying that.

I was nothing short of PO’d when I realized we were jumping straight into a completely different storyline right after that intense, dramatic scene between Magnolia and BJ. For a second, I genuinely thought I’d picked up the wrong series. But nope. This is exactly where the whole Gossip Girl comparison starts to make sense. In the first book, we’re deep in the whirlwind of the couple that everyone falls hopelessly for, despite their messy, toxic love story. But Daisy and Christian? This story was different but still messy in the best way. We finally get to explore other characters in the group, and suddenly there’s this wild, dramatic gang lord storyline woven in. & now I can’t put the book down.

**Just to be clear, you do have to really suspend reality here—so if that’s not your flow, this might not be for you.

simply put…. no. ❤️‍

Don’t tell anyone I said this, but there was a moment while reading this book where I actually thought Christian and Daisy had potential. Like, I even told a friend from here (I’m so sorry) to give it a shot—but that was before I got to part three and saw that… Christian was still as obsessed with Magnolia as ever.

He and Daisy had already broken up, he had realized he was in love with Daisy, BUT he was STILL in love with Magnolia—and even kissed her

Ok first of all - I LOVE Daisy. Oh my gosh what a badass. And I love her and Christian. However everything else around them was just ok. I liked it but didn’t love. Daisy and Christian saved this book for me which honestly is a good thing since it’s mostly about them. There were so many amazing scenes and this book as so well written. But this book also gave me so much anxiety - way more than the first one.

I will say the end scene annoyed me a little because he followed her all the way to NY because he knew of her situation then a couple months later gets upset because of said situation??? Like what? He insert d himself. But I guess I can also empathise in how hard that situation must have been for him waiting for her to show some progress…

This would have probably been a five star for me if there had been even a little bit of chill with the footnotes. There were just so many. If you like the first Magnolia Parks universe book, you will probably like this. The timeline overlaps substantially, so you could probably do a tandem read if you wanted, but I liked being able to fully focus on Daisy as the main titular character in this one. I liked her so much better than Magnolia, and the conflicts in this and the draw she has to Romeo, her equivalent of BJ, at least has some depth to it both with the trauma they have gone through as well as the reason they broke up. While this still had an equal amount of toxic drama, the criminal element made this a little more high stakes which, to me, made it more enjoyable than Magnolia Parks book 1.
