Cute concept and those with toddlers will appreciate the humor of the story. A bit to wordy for a picture book, though.

Baby Edwin accompanies Mother on her errands, babbling all the way. Even though mother and siblings don't realize it, we can hear that he makes perfect sense! DO practice Edwin's lines before reading aloud for maximum effect.

Cute illustrations (love me some Sophie Blackall) and the concept of a babbling baby as the wisest member of the family, but the execution was a little annoying with all the bickering siblings and the air-head mom. I wasn't mad at it or anything, but I don't enjoy kids who are kind of pieces of doo doo and offer nothing interesting as a trade-off to their horrid, once-dimensional personality. At least be smart, you know?

I could only think: How in the world could a mother be so scatterbrained and ignore her children? No discipline? Come on....UGH!

I like the way this one lets the young reader relish information that the adult in the story fails to grasp - i.e. that Edwin is trying to tell her things all the time.

June 2016 - I think this one is hilarious, but it didn't quite hold Ben's attention. I think it might work better with an older kid, who can pick up on Edwin's speech.

Has a good message in there, but the story and illustrations are a little dull.

There is some seriously irresponsible parenting going on in this book...

This book was a little confusing, as so much of the narrative depends on the pictures. Also, I'm doubtful that children will get the point--that Edwin is essentially talking throughout the book, although it's embedded in goo-goo gagas. Meh.
