This is not the Little Mermaid you know, it’s darker in some ways, but such a sweet story of trying to find yourself & realizing you knew who you were all along. I’ve always like Jenni James & her short, sweet, fairytale retellings, & this one did not disappoint.
The only downside is how badly the humans are portrayed, but they never got a chance to interact with many humans, especially with the language barrier, & as much as I wish I could say no human is actually as bad as Drake, I just can’t cause there are actually worse humans out there then him. 🤷🏻♀️

I have to say, I was not satisfied with this book. The Little Mermaid is a pretty bad fairy tale when it comes to the ending, so I guess this one was a little better than the actual tale. But this book made humans look really bad. Idk, i just wasn't feeling this book. I gave it a 1.5.

To be fair I read the rough draft on wattpad
Great moral but super boring
I don't like that no one help them I mean humans are that bad again I heard she changed that in her actual book so....
This felt like keels story more than pearls
