Enjoyed this more than the first book, although I still don't know if I will ever enjoy reading the word mate so many times in one piece of fiction. I liked Ladon a lot more than I liked Brand, which helped. The dragon politics (two words I never expected to put together in my life) is starting to really ramp up. I'm interested to see how this whole thing plays out now. It was also nice to see Skylar and Ladon's character growth together. It felt stronger than Kasia and Brand's in the first book. Overall, a solid sequel and I can't wait to read the third book.
