Read this as a palate cleaner book, which was what it is good for. Short and sweet, nothing complicated about it, which is what I wanted but outside of that nothing special about it for me.

Virgin River if it had Cowboys instead of Marines and neurodivergence instead of antiquated gender norms.

Fun read, but don’t think too hard about it.

Also, why are all these characters assholes until they meet & are fixed by their one true love? Breaking up with your partner via post-it and then just fucking ghosting them is an asshole move when the worst thing he’s ever done try to order food for you.

This was a cute (and my first) cowboy romance that I powered through in a weekend. Was the writing awesome? Not necessarily, but it was just what I needed to relax my brain and swoon over a certain Mr. Brooks. I immediately felt the chemistry between the main characters. While Emmy's hesitance to tell her family about the relationship would normally annoy me, I thought this circumstance worked here. I also loved watching Luke help her overcome her fears to get back on the horse. Even the side characters were memorable—I cannot wait for Teddy's book!
