Easy reading. Nothing very heavy. Light and fun with just a bit of edge. Fairly quick and predictable.

Solid 3⭐️
This was just okay. Nothing overly bad but also nothing that made the book stand out; it kinda felt like a lot of other small town romances. The MC’s were also pretty solid; again nothing that made them stand out. The ADHD rep felt…gratuitous(?)I guess I had higher expectations because I saw a few rave reviews on socials but unfortunately it fell in the middle for me. The writing at times also felt clunky and wordy and over explained/simplified. I might check out the other books if they come to KU or on sale but definitely not rushing to read the series.

Was it predictable and corny? Yes.

Did I still enjoy it and will read the next ones? Also yes.

Side note: As someone who recently left a career in a field I loved, but it wasn’t the long-term right fit; that whole aspect of the story resonated with me more than I thought it would. 😬😩 “The only person who needs to feel good about your decision is you Emmy.” ❤️

“when it came to emmy, i was playing with fire, but i would happily walk into the flames for her. and i’d have a smile on my face the whole damn time.”

i read this book in less than a day and ate up every single second of it.

emmy and luke were so sweet together, and i loved their connection. i especially loved how luke stepped up and took care of her when she came back to meadowlark, even though emmy’s brother asked him to look after her, he looked after her in his own way (iykyk).

the pieces we saw of luke’s life and his mom added to the story rather than took away from it, which helped me connect to his character more. and emmy, the pieces we saw of her struggles with adhd made so much sense, and i think that was a very important aspect of this book, especially when it came to the things she loved (riding).

although this is a popular book, i would absolutely say it lived up to the hype! i really enjoyed it, and i can’t wait to read the next one!
