This was such a fun, quick read! Emmy and Luke are so cute together and I adored their chemistry. I liked the storyline too, with career changes and small-town vibes. I I enjoyed the mental health representation when we see Emmy's struggle with panic attacks. I also loved Emmy's family and how they took Luke in from such a young age. This didn't quite hit five stars for me because I wanted a little more background on Luke's upbringing and Emmy's riding competition history. It also felt a little too insta-lovey and easy... they've known each other almost their whole lives and all of a sudden Emmy is "hot" and you realize she's been under your nose the whole time? A lil sus to me... But overall I liked it and recommend! I can't wait to read Wes and Ada's story next (comes out in October!)

LUKE MF BROOKS!!!!! that man is everything. also emmy???? i love that woman. i related to her a lot, mainly in her sensory issues. it felt like lyla asked me what mine were and used them for emmy 😂 this was just all around a fun time. i love the brother’s best friend trope a bunch, and this one didn’t miss. AND this one does NOT have a 3rd act breakup!!! whoop whoop!

I really enjoyed this one much more than I was expecting! The cowboy romance genre has never really called to me but I saw this one and KU, saw there was no 3rd act breakup, and decided to give it a try. I’m very glad I did!

I found Emmy very relatable, especially with her anxiety, and I see a lot of myself in that. Luke breathing with her made me want to cry because that’s what my bf does for me. I absolutely loved their relationship and how the tension was there immediately!

This one is definitely more cowgirl centered than cowboy and I think that’s maybe why I liked it! We saw Emmy ride and overcome. We saw Luke help out and support her (as he should).

I think that Gus was way more extra than necessary and I feel like the next book should’ve been his and Teddy’s since we barely hear about Wes. I’m still excited though and I’ll definitely be keeping up with this series!!

Cowboy take me away! I truly can’t believe this is Lyla’s debut novel, it was absolutely fantastic! I could not put this book down it was so compelling. I love Emmy and Luke- together and separately. Emmy really brought out this soft side of Luke that had me swooning. He was so thoughtful and sweet and kind. Emmy was one of those FMCs that you just want to be friends with. Now don’t get it twisted while this book offers up the sweet small town/ranch romance we all love it also delivers on the spice. This book really was very well balanced. Honorable mention to Teddy who was my favorite of the other characters, I am dying to read a book with her as the FMC. I need everyone to go download this book immediately.
