DNF at 50%. I really, really tried but I cannot keep the various characters straight as they keep jumping around between points of views, locations, things that are happening, I'm halfway through this book and I'm not finding the connective thread yet. I really enjoyed the first two books in this universe, but this one has become an exercise in frustration and I need to walk away.

I found the beginning of the third Wayfarers installment to begin just a bit of a hodge podge. As characters were introduced I couldn't quite differentiate one person from another. However, the story propelled forward at a good pace, and after I took some notes, I had a better time of it!

Chambers writes so vividly, and her characters are so rich. They are really developed and believable, even in a futuristic world. I found myself, many times, comparing their plight to current day happenings.

I would say the last third of the book, where the characters really start to come together was excellent. This was a rare journey into a sci-fi universe for me, and I'm anxious for Chamber's next installment.

Not the tightest plot-wise, but a lovely exploration of both being part of a diaspora and the hard choices people work through when deciding to emigrate. I found this one very reflective for me personally as a descendant of immigrants and someone who struggles often between the choices of leaving and staying in many facets of life. Becky Chambers put so much care into this little world within her bigger world and most of all I loved exploring society in the Fleet.
