I really liked this. Another character driven novel with only tangential references to previous characters.

Didn't like it as much as her first two but still a lovely read.

I'm a fan of Becky Chambers and really enjoyed her previous two books. That being said, I didn't enjoy this one as much.

I love the wayfarer series and how humans fit within a larger universe. Regarding us as just the newest species on the block. That being said, the lack of different alien characters to bounce this feeling off disapointed me.

Humans feeling lost is a universal feeling, even on earth. So I found it lackluster to have that as one of the themes in this book. The setting itself is fine but so human-centric for such a lively alien series.

I enjoyed the slice of life style of this book. I cam imagine some people hating the lack of plot at some points but I didnt mind. Its a great cozy read that made me laugh and cry at some points. Chambers is great at evoking both emotions in equal measures.

The third book in the Wayferes' series follows a giant spacecraft of Earthling refugees as they create a working community on their ship and relationships with alien species. This is more of a slice of life book that explores what life would be like if resources were limited. All the characters are great and well written again. The social dynamics are the real draw for the story. It is a very interesting and engaging book.

i didn't like this one as much as the first two — i think chambers was a little overambitious w her cast and the project of interconnecting disparate lives, so it felt stretched a little thin and somewhat disjointed. even so, the writing and character work is still phenomenal

More disjointed compared to the first two books due to the many narratives and meandering plot but I still got the same comforting warmth from reading it.

Egg on my face, Spotify does have the rest of this series so yay for that. I wanted to read something chill after the ... Experience that was reading Rhythm of War and this was a good choice I think. More emotional at times then I was anticipating, but overall with that hopeful and wholesome tone that Becky Chambers absolutely nails.

I liked this a lot, but I was getting a little lost with all the different characters in the middle a bit.

My heart is full, and I found myself in the rare position of tears, once or twice. This book was beautiful; it was like coming home, and I just connected with everyone so much stronger than I did even in the first two books. If you hate it because nothing really happens, well, that is not the kind of book this is. This is a slow-moving, philosophical book where even

serves more as a catalyst to bring people together and cause them to contemplate life, tradition, history, and their shared personhood. If you like books about important people saving the world, this is not for you. This book is for the rest of us, ordinary folks who sometimes think about their place in the universe and sometimes wonder what they should make for dinner.
