This series became one of my favourites. I love the nordic crime genre and this just felt so well written and so well thought out. I remember flying through this and dying to read the next!

I didn’t like it but I didn’t hate it. SUPER slow start. Picked up around 52%. Got interesting for about 15% of the book and then lost me again if I’m being honest. Wasn’t the best but wasn’t the worst either

The main characters are amazing and the storyline is just as great. For any show, movie, or book that is a mystery I always try to figure out ‘whodunit’ before the end of the book. I’m Traveling Alone will make you question everyone and everything and you still won’t guess the end. The only reason why this didn’t get a full 5 star review was because almost every chapter in the beginning half of the book was introducing a new character with their back story. It did make the elaborate plot that much better but I did get a little confused at some points with the plethora of characters.
If you love Nordic Noir I highly suggest I’m Traveling Alone

There's something enticing about Scandinavian thrillers that shine through imagery of its cold landscape. While it's an interesting story, nothing really seemed to stand out and the parallel story completely fell by the wayside - I suspect this will be picked up in Samuel Bjork's later novels. This goes for the protagonist Mia, who I believe may have a greater role in the following books.

As there are so many components to the story, you won't feel bored as such - but it is still far too long for what it is. The killer is predictable - remember always suspect the extremely nice side characters. So it doesn't break out of the thriller mould unfortunately. Slightly disappointed after all the hype.

Overall I liked this story. It was a little too unbelievable, otherwise I would have given it a higher rating. But I liked how complex the plot was and it kept me guessing.
