This series still appeals to me in spite of the overuse of the same imagery over and over again. I just love the world she has created and the overall sweetness of the series. IRL, bonding is such a goofy concept to me but in these books, sure, why now. A light, don't think too much about it all, fun read.

Maybe my favorite so far of the Psy-Changeling Trinity series despite some storytelling issues (the initial drama of will he become brain dead just kind of... disappears and then the next conflict also?). The world building of the Black Sea changelings is layered and fascinating (although it's unclear why all sorts of sea creatures are in the same clan when the land changelings are one species at a time but I'm quibbling again) and the relationship between the two leads is compelling. I've just talked myself down from four stars to three and a half but still I enjoyed it.

It was cool to learn about Blacksea and the missing changelings. What wasn't cool or believable was the instalove. Come on Nalini. You can write better love stories than this. Also to be honest, I'm not reading the psy-changeling series to read about humans.

Love 💘 this series and this book!

I mourn when I finish each of these books. I loved finding more about Bo. Thank you for another great 👍 read.

Honestly, my feelings on this book are partially shaded my opinions as I was feeling like I was in a slump when reading so didn’t enjoy it as much as I hoped. But I think I also struggled because this new series involves new packs I’m not familiar with and so I’m no as connected as everything is new again. I understood the structure of the wolf and leopard pack but not this new one and I felt it. I struggled to feel connected with the story because I didn’t get the pack structure and how it all worked. Also I’d liked the bears and thought we’d see more of them.

That being said I did enjoy seeing more of the Human Alliance, I would have liked more of the inner workings. I wanted more of the mystery of the consortium too and that didn’t come until later but oh well.
