What pushed this from a 4 to 5 star for me was the author provided not only a lovely and thrilling story, but worked in knowledge about our ecosystem. I finished the book not only entertained, but informed. An excellent read. Thank you to the person who left it in my Little Free Library; and now I'll return it for another person to discover.
It was ok. I was expecting a lot more. I did not feel the feels that others had said occurred. That being said, read it, it is a good book.

I loved this story. I went in not knowing anything other than the title and that it was popular and left in awe of this truly remarkable work. Kaya is such a likeable charachter and I cannot recall a time when I was rooting for a protagonist more than I was for her. This story made me want to go out in the marsh, study science and Chase my wildest dreams. There was a surprise on every page that kept me captivated for the whole 2 days it took to get through this novel.
Sidenote: I listened to this on audiobook, but if you are considering this book, I suggest reading in. Some parts are a little personal to have read to you.
