The Brightest Fell
4.5 Stars
Definitely one of my favorite books in the series although lack of page time is disappointing.
The clever recapping of previous storylines and the inclusion of past characters alongside new ones clearly indicates that MacGuire is building up toward a significant event and the eventual end of October's journey.
The thing that stands out the most for me in this book is the idea of family. While October's biological relations leave much to be desired (Amandine and August ), the family that she has created for herself with May, Jazz, Quenton, Tybalt and even the Luidaeg is truly special and worth fighting for.
All in all, a fantastic addition to October's tales and it will be an excruciatingly long wait for the next book.

Perhaps one of the best books yet in this series. So gut wrenching, funny and moving. I love the way it closed doors left open in previous novels. I can't wait for the next book.

Ahhh so much happened in this and it was rough but great. The Luidaeg singing Poor Unfortunate Souls is peak literature.

a series that keeps getting better
In a series that has contained numerous emotional moments, this entire story was the weightiest of them all. Incredible focus on characters that keep growing and deepening.

I started this series as a fast paced romp (and earlier books definitely fit that) but this one really got me. It has some solid character development.

This was a really compelling story. I enjoyed all the weird family dynamics.
