5⭐️ The Vacancy in Room 10 was so good!!! What a great cast of characters in this misfit community! I did a combo of audio and kindle on this one and enjoyed both equally. The story is told in dual POV, Anna whose husband may have committed suicide or just maybe he was murdered. Then, there's Cass. She's the handy-mam of this little apartment complex where everyone is in your business. It made me snicker, made me sad, made me cheer and had me guessing. All the characters were great. I honestly wish this was a series. Just putting that out there!

Well, folks, I have a new auto-buy author on my list. I devoured this book and just couldn't put it down! I'm giving it all the stars because I can't think of a thing I didn't like. The characterisation and the whole setting and dialogues were as authentic as it gets.
I just love this author's writing style and the fact that she can hold my attention from the very first page. It’s the ‘just-one-more-chapter’ kind of book where you’re dying to know what’s going on and before you know it, you’re racing through the pages. The pace just never relents.
Anna moves into a a run-down flat in the Sycamour motel turned into apartment complex, where her husband Henry was painting in the days leading up to his suicide. She wants to understand what led to his act, but especially why he mentioned killing someone in his last phone call to her.
She spends her days getting to know the tenants and Cass, a young woman who runs the place and acts as the ‘handyman’ around the units.
Cass has her own demons to fight, after being dumped by her rich boyfriend, she is now reduced to blackmailing married men who pick her up at the bar, in order to survive. But one night her little plan goes horribly wrong.
This has it all, adrenaline pumping scenes, sleazy characters, a cute little boy, a murderer, and a whole cast of batshit-crazy tenants you won’t easily forget.
Full of jaw dropping twists this is a book you can’t afford to miss!

3.5 stars rounded down. The plot was intriguing but the protagonists both seemed naive and unrealistic.

Not sure the book title or cover really make sense with what the book was actually about but whatever I guess. This was a somewhat slow burn mystery with a lot of puzzle pieces to be put together by the end and all of it did come together nicely. I liked the two main characters and the broad cast of Sycamore characters and enjoyed how much time was spent on them even though it didn't add a lot to the actual story. All in all a solid suspense/mystery that was unique enough to stand out in the genre in my opinion.
DOUBLE REVIEW! My fiancé and I listened to this one on our road trip! We both agree this one is a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ read. While I guessed the perpetrator somewhat early on, my fiancé said it took him a bit longer to figure it out. What I did NOT see coming was how everything wrapped up. This was a fun thriller! Dual perspective with two different stories that become intertwined in a very fun way. Great road trip listen!
This was SO GOOD!!! It was a solid 4 star until the last quarter of the book, and I easily bumped it to a 5 star, because it was just a delight to see these women come together and help each other in every way. The mystery was locked room, and not what I expected. Really well crafted and suspenseful. Loved. Will definitely be checking out her other books!
