ngl i did not enjoy this as much as i wanted to :/ dramatic in all the wrong ways, neither main character was lovable (which can work, if done correctly), and good god i hate second person pov. my toxic trait is being unable to put down a book, even if it’s terrible, and so here i am. it wasn’t… Terrible. just. not good?

I was sucked into the story from the very start. I went into the book blind, as I do with most of my books. I really felt like I was there. The author did an incredible job! I was on the edge of my seat and reading it very fast! I was trying to guess from the start what was going on. I can’t wait to read more from Amber Garza!

What a fun ride!! Even though Kelly is clearly an unreliable narrator, I found myself rooting for her. After the first “twist” I was disappointed, but then things looked up again!
When
she drops Sullivan I actually screamed out loud and then when I saw it was just her daydream….wow lol that definitely got me because I wouldn’t put it past a woman in her state to actually go through with it
I was quite satisfied with the ending too. The overall plot is pretty used up, but it’s one of my favorites, so I don’t mind! “I want what you have” is definitely a fav thriller trope for me, and I’ll always enjoy the ride :)

Thank you to Pigeonhole for the opportunity to read this. Unfortunately a disappointing ending totally spoiled what was otherwise a reasonably gripping thriller. In the attempt to raise the tension we strayed outwith believability and into cheap narrative tricks that had me groaning in frustration that the author had chosen to go there.
