This was a thrilling and amazing conclusion to the Statues trilogy. I read this through in one go, I just didn't want to put it down.

It was a little different to the first two books, although definitely not in a bad way. I think this is because this book is set mainly in Skelside, which seems to remain in the past, rather than in present day America. The book was captivating and nicely completed what has been an amazing series. It felt shorter than the previous two books – but this could have been the speed at which I was reading it and my desperation to get to find out what happened.

We see a lot more of minor characters from previous books, and Ivy really comes into her own – especially as her usual support network isn’t around. Ivy went through a whole gamut of emotions, from happy to sad, angry to scared and just about everything inbetween, and I followed with her. You may well need tissues at several points in this book.

Ainsley Shay’s work is so easy to read, the plot and dialogue flow smoothly, it is well edited, the characters are well developed and her use of language draws you in but doesn’t confuse you. I really liked how all the different 'lose ends' of the story were woven together and in a believable and satisfying way too.

Whilst I'm happy to have found out how the story ended I am sad that this tale is over. All the characters were so amazing and drew you in - even the 'baddies'. I even found myself feeling sad for Darenfys and Adelina at times! Snow, Chandler, Ivy, Blacwin and Mr Yves are all amazing - I would happily read books about those 4 supporting characters - and even ones giving Darenfys' and Adelina's stories.
