There was so much going on in this book.  I listened to the audiobook and I think it was too much to keep up with.  If I'd read physically, I think I would have liked it more.  Our main character's father dies (not a spoiler) and her family runs a funeral home.  There is family stuff going on due to that, but there is also work stuff, and then we have a romance plot line and also a ghost plot line.  It all intertwines beautifully, so props to the author for that.  I appreciate that this is a romance with some grit.  I wouldn't call it heavy, but I also wouldn't call it a "light" read.

3.5 stars - I loved the premise of The Dead Romantics and think it balanced the perfect amount of humor with the heavier topics existing as well. I did feel at times the book was almost too self aware which is a danger when writing a book about books! This created some cheesiness I don’t typically love in my romance books. However, both Florence and Benji were well developed characters that were easy to root for.

Thank you to Edelweiss for the advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

A couple of surprises I didn't guess (and some I did). Cute story. 3.5 stars rounded up.

Cute but just not my style. Dynamic and chemistry is everything Ill ever want with a partner.

Ending could’ve been 15 pages shorter but I appreciate an ending that isn’t rushed
