what

OK this is good. Piqued my interest since the beginning. Kept me guessing. Kept me thinking on what's the best outcome to have. I kinda wish some of the marriages don't have to break down but I realized again it's impossible. The annoying thing is that in the end one of the big fact the protagonists were worrying about is not true (due to unreliable narrator of course) but I guess even if only half of the things mentioned here is true, it's still bad. I'd like to read author's future works!

Men are idiots!

Big twist at the end but this was a very good story involving 3 wives and a mystery of who was the rapist 30 years earlier.

Wow! A powerful, intense, emotional read, but well worth it. Three women who have never met get identical letters detailing a gang rape that took place more than 20 years ago implicating their husbands as the rapists. Cate Ray takes you through several months of Stephanie, Pree, and Jess's lives as they are upturned by the allegations. Each woman reacts differently to the letter as they reexamine their lives with their "good husbands". Who do they trust? Their husbands or a total stranger? Will they act, react, or ignore?

Jess brings the trio together as they struggle through the upheaval and determine what action(s) they might take. Jess, Stephanie, and Pree are strong, determined, intelligent women who struggle with the wrecking ball that has hit them.

While this is an emotional read, it also brings to light the social issues women face every day regarding assault, rape, consent, legal avenues, and other obstacles. You never know exactly how you will react to a situation until you face it.

I could not put this book down. I finished it in about 3 days. The plot was good, the characters were mostly realistic, I liked the social commentary about rape culture, classicism, and sexism. The ending twist was confusing or I would have rated it a 5 star.

Three women receive the same letter accusing their husbands of a sexual assault twenty years ago.
They don't know each other but their lives are about to become inextricably linked and their worlds turned upside down.
How can they prove whether the accusation is true or false?
