I never would have thought a drug lord could be so adorable! I absolutely love Rhevenge! Ward has done it again. I'm glad she's brought Phury back into the mix, and Tohr. All the side stories were great as usual, and I can't wait to see what's in store for John Matthew and Xhex.

This was the hardest of the brotherhood books for me to get into and finish. I blame it on no brothers being directly involved in the main plot line. Still it was a good book and set up what I imagine will be an INCREDIBLE next book. (Rehvenge and Ehlena)
Another enjoyable read but I did have some character development issues.
I really didn't expect to like this one because I always thought Rhev was kind of annoying. But once again Ward sucked me in and made me love yet another of her characters. I'm just bummed that the next book isn't in paperback yet!
Revh has always been one of my favorite characters, from the tips of his mohawk to the bottom of his fur coat. One of J.R.'s strengths has always been layers of story. Having a great romance with interesting main characters while keeping around a selection of ones from previous books. She builds her plots novel after novel while finishing out story lines in each book so you don't get frustrated.
As in real life things change, people die, jobs change and assassins pull out peoples eyeballs. Overall a very worthy entry. It raised the stakes for several characters and went down paths that I didn't anticipate.

3 1/2 stars. I like Rhevenge and Ehlena but overall the book was a bit bland, took me longer to read than the others. Still enjoyable tho

Thank god! The last book was so boring (sorry, but it was), and this one was back on track! Woo! This one actually had a main couple that made sense together, and their story was not far-fetched at all. ((I know, it's a series about vampires, but the love bits still need to make sense, don't they??)).
I've always liked Rehvenge .... but that's probably my ableism speaking. Dude's got a cane like me! Holla! And I also really liked Ehlena. She was cool - and she liked him even though he was 10 degrees of fucked up. There were also lots of other stories happening here - Blay and Qhuinn - something is building there ... John and Xhex - that's the next book so they're building tension for us now. Introduction of a new character, is she getting a book? You know what we need now? What I'd really like to see? I'd love to see a disabled chick get the guy. If a character is ever disabled it's normally the dude and then a nurturing chick falls for him - let's see the opposite please! ((Heh - just want to see some real world in a world of vampires)).
The story was also good. At first I didn't like how mixed and intertwined the stories were becoming. But it's certainly growing on me if only because it moves the book along quicker. Though there were definitely times I was like - c'mon - bring me back to Rehv! Anyway, a lot happened in this one and I loved it. The story was full of action and a fuck ton of romance. I dig it, I dig it. I can hardly wait to read the next one.
Overall, a way better read than book 6.
J.R. Ward, you nailed this one way harder than the last.
