Not as enthralling as other fantasy series’s debuts, but interesting enough that I’ll continue on to book two. The plot was fairly predictable but also quite scattered…riddle me that. I just didn’t connect with any of the characters, so we’ll see what book two brings.

I actually thought I wouldn't finish this book because honestly it got to a point I wanted to dump it aside, the hype wasn't worth it.

This was my first time diving into a fantasy genre and I had high expectations, the writing was a bit like wattpad novels, (a bit don't come for me ya'll) predictable and all that.

The guy's name is Wrath I expected some hell fury of wrath but nah he was cozing up with the female lead too suddenly I didn't feel the wickedness. It was actually the cover that drew me to the book but I'm not giving up on fantasy just yet.

I didn't completely dislike the book but it just didn't do it for me, there were still some things I loved about it, like the hell-themed plot, gothic Italian setting and enemies to friends troupe were great. The ending was also a big moment I was looking forward to, it just didn't quite put me on the edge of my seat, making me look forward to the next book.
I'm still considering if I'll continue the series

I’m so weak for an enemies to lovers trope. Of course there were some plot holes and I was confused at a couple of parts…
wtf did Envy mean, one more soul to free Wrath?
where did the grimmoire go and why was Emilia so nonchalant at the end?
what happened to Claudia??
but I’m hoping it’s cleared up in the second book.

It’s been a long time since I found a book I couldn’t put down, and I’m glad it was this one. Now, if I can get my hands on the second…

A rather thrilling fantasy novel. The world building had some rather fantastic depths and color to it. It was really easy to see how the author incorporated their personal experience. I really liked how that meshed. Some elements of their story seemed to get muddled at times, and I found myself needing to go back to reread something in order to understand what was happening. Lots of characters, but the author does a good job of keeping them all straight— as well as their alliances and organizations. However, FL seemed to have very little development throughout the story. She made a lot of odd choices, and that really took away from the tension of the story. I liked the chemistry between the FL and the ML tremendously. I hope to see that further developed in the second volume.

This ending was mean!!
Alright, I really enjoyed this book.
Very light reading, good story and easy writing, it keeps you curious throughout every chapter.
Absolutely love Emilia, she's a great character, and Wrath is...intriguing. I needed to see a little more of him though.
There were things I didn't like of course, such as the way some scenes and moments that felt big and powerful suddenly died out, and got fixed in half a dozen lines.
The story develops very well but sometimes I got this feeling that there was a bit of rush to include all the characters in key moments, trying to force the mystery or the shock, and it didn't really work out.
But overall it was the book the helped me fight the reading slump I'm currently facing and now I'm curious the read the next!
