Loved it! This book drew me in from the start and was difficult to put down. I loved getting to know these characters and seeing their relationship evolve.

Reader’s Notes:

– this is part of a series, but can be read as a stand-alone

– this is told from Kenzie & Trey’s points of view

– someone close to a main character deals with an (as of the beginning of the story) unhealthy issue of hoarding

Review:

I really enjoyed this sweet romantic comedy! There were so many raw emotions over different feelings and situations that made everything seem so much more real and tangible. I loved that Trey wasn’t a loud and proud kind of guy despite being a popular hockey player. He was quiet and sweet. I loved that he tried to clean up before Kenzie got to his house to assess the situation and ended up forgetting to clean clothes prior. I loved that Kenzie had a great real reason to be averse to the idea of being on the matchmaking show after her bad experiences using the app they’d use to match people. I also loved that Kenzie loved hockey just as much as Trey and that they could talk about it and know what they were talking about instead of humoring one another by pretending. Some of my favorite scenes/moments in this book included: Trey’s friends conspiring to get him and Kenzie together, when they went through the cards, the dates for the show, their debriefs from their dates, taking care of each other, their shared childhood, and Kenzie’s talks with her roommates, friends, and family. I am also really excited about the next story (Evie’s) and how it’s going to be based on how this story set it up!

Summary:

Kenzie hasn’t found a job that makes her want to stay yet. Her latest venture is in self employment with organizing other people’s spaces. When she started the business, she didn’t have very high hopes of attaining clients with the little proof of her work that she had at the ready. But she does gain a few clients easily, one of which being Trey. Trey, the same guy she grew up crushing on and who is now a popular hockey star. Only problem is, he doesn’t seem to remember her…

Trey has always dreamed of having a family of his own, but finds that it is hard to find a woman who likes him for more than his fame or money. When he meets Kenzie, she’s a breath of fresh air and is happily surprised that she doesn’t throw herself at him. As he gets to know her while she works on organizing his house, Trey realizes that he likes spending time with her and wants to extend the amount of time they spend together. Despite her reservations, Trey manages to convince Kenzie to join him on a show that claims to match people with their perfect person. But with each date that passes, Trey is finding himself hoping that he’ll be matched with Kenzie in the end. Could she be the woman he’s been waiting for?

Matched With Her Athlete Boss is a super cute rom-com by Britney M. Mills. It is book 3 in her Romance by Love, Austen Series but can be read as a stand-alone.

Trey & Kenzie both love hockey! In fact, they went to hockey camp together when they were younger. Kenzie was going by MacKenzie back then and was in her awkward teenage years while Trey was the camp superstar. Now they are grown up and he is a professional hockey player and she is struggling to find the perfect job. She decides that she wants to start an Organizational Company - Trey is her first customer (besides her father)!

Recently dumped by her fiance, Trey talks Kenzie into doing the Love, Austen Matchmaking TV Show with him. Between organizing his new house and giving each other recaps on their dates, they seem to be spending a lot of time together. Everything changes once Trey figures out who she really is!

This book is filled with great banter, great side characters and I look forward to reading more of Britney’s books!

cute athlete love story.

I really loved this book and the characters. I did struggle with a lot of continuity errors throughout the book, but it was good enough that I overlooked them. I would just be aware that there are some unintentional shifts of perspective, some time line errors, and some other issues that might have you scratching your head a bit.

Ooo this one was so cute!!! I loved it!

I love Trey and Kenzie!!! This story was so unbelievably cute. I really loved the slow building of their relationship that really worked for them. I loved seeing them grow emotionally and how they helped each other move forward.

Once again I love Britney's writing style and how she's really able to help her characters have real life problems addresses while still keeping her books fun, sweet, and emotionally touching. She's got the skills!!

Matched with Her Athlete Boss is the third book in the Romance By Love, Austen series. I had not personally read the previous books in the series and found that it read just fine as a standalone.

I'm not a sports person. I've never seen a hockey game in my life and couldn't tell you anything about the sport if my life depended on it. That said, there's something about a sports romance that I have found myself really drawn to lately, so I was definitely excited about this one.

Right from the start, I found myself enjoying these characters and their chemistry. This was certainly a true slow-burn romance though. The attraction was certainly there from the start, but actually getting them together? That took a while. I must admit, I don't typically like my romances quite this slow, but it worked for this one. By the time that moment came, it was certainly worth the wait it took to get there. Overall, I found it to be a quick and enjoyable read and one that fans of sweet romance are sure to want to check out.

**I received a complimentary ARC for consideration. All thoughts are my own.

Loved this story. (And this series.) Kenzie and Trey are so fun. Kenzie has been drifting through different jobs and is trying to start a professional organizing business. Trey is a professional hockey player. They are thrown together, first because of the marriage of their mutual friends, him hiring her to organize his home, and then because of the filming of a show about the matchmaking app for Love, Austen. That all adds up to a lot of time together to fall in love! Their dates with other people…matches from the app…aren’t the stuff dreams are made of. Lots of fun and funny moments. Lots of sweet moments. The epilogue is cute too. Fun to see more of past characters too. You don’t have to read the other books in the series to enjoy this one, but I would recommend you do for the best experience. This is a clean and sweet story.

Matched With Her Athlete Boss by Britney M. Mills is the third book in the Romance by Love, Austen series. I loved every minute of this book and it was so fun to read. It is a fast-paced closed-door rom-com. This book is told by 2 POVs, Kenzie Sullivan, and Trey Hatch. Trey is a professional hockey player for the Boston Breeze and Kenzie's long time crush. Kenzie just started her own organizing business and Trey hires her to help get his new house set up. Kenzi has sworn off dating but as she gets closer to Trey it becomes harder. This was such a cute book. I really enjoyed it. It was an easy read with likable characters. I cannot wait for the fourth book of the series to come out.
