Darren Shan
A very disappointing end. I wish I hadn’t read the last chapter of this book as it undid the whole series. The series had its flaws but it was good overall and then this last book just unpicked it all. A shame.
I loved how this book tied in with the very first book, with the same lines being written/said. It was so clever and had the potential to be a brilliant and unforgettable ending. Instead it was ruined by turning it all into a “dream” something that didn’t actually happen at all. Felt like the author didn’t know how to finish the series so threw it in the trash and left it to die.

I'm not overly fond of the ending; I don't like endings that end up not having the entire story taking place, but it was so well done I can't be too bitter about it. The series is about more than just Darren Shan, so to see that with this ending they stick it to the bad guy and save the world (most likely) is more than enough. Doesn't mean I can't mourn the story, though!
“I’ve always been fascinated by spiders…”
Just finished Sons of Anarchy-I mean-Destiny.
Annnnd holy shit I just got the title hahha
Anyway, dunno if I enjoyed this, but I’m glad I can say I’ve finished the series. I wouldn’t mind rereading the first couple of books, especially for nostalgia sake.
Overall I’ll always have a soft spot for this series and am glad I read it.
Maybe I should have stuck with reading the ebooks, but even then I wasn’t feeling the last couple of books. I didn’t care much for the tension between Darren and Steve. Steve is too much of a monologue mustache twirling evil villain.
The revelation that they were both sons of Mr. Tiny did catch me off guard, but not in a good way. At that point I didn’t really care. At this point the title is very funny though. Tiny is gross. Hate that dude. I don’t even understand what kind of non-human being he is which makes it confusing as to what he can and can’t do.
I was hoping Darren wasn’t Harkat cause I liked him. Darren deserves one friend. Turns out his last best friend was him. (I’m not entirely sure though cause they mentioned that things can’t be changed but people can be replaced.) But it’s nice that it’s full circle. The trip to the past made me miss Mr. Crepsley. Love that man.
I liked the end with the book. Especially cause the author having the same name as the main character was always strange and mysterious and was one of the first things that drew me in when I first read it in middle school.

This was such a mind-twisting ending I cannot....
Khm, so yeah, this is an awesome series. I loved it. This ending may be a little too intense for my taste, but that relevation, OMFG.
So, thanks Darren.

Eens halfweg dacht ik dat het verhaal ten einde zou zijn, maar dan kwam er, voor mij, een onverwachte wending. Mooi einde van een heel mooie serie!

For the first time in the series this one was split into two parts. First part was the obvious ending and would've earned just 3 stars, but part 2 was very smart, I did not see that coming.
