Everything about this series is so OTT: the action, the heroes, the spice. Most of the characters are centuries-old immortals of varying species, often in opposition to one another, which means many epic fight scenes and lots of intense yearning. That said, these books aren't for everyone; the majority contain pushy heroes and elements of dubcon or body betrayal. But if that's something you're okay with, this is a highly addicting fated mates series (Demon from the Dark is my personal fave). Highly recommend the audiobooks because Robert Petkoff's narration is masterful.

Ok, so the writing is good but I just couldn’t believe in this romance. She loves this guy?? How?!? He never really redeems himself. And I hated the dub-con throughout. This book is NOT my thing.

This was a fun book, but the best part was the Scottish narration for the MMC. Oofta. The characters were endearing and it had a satisfying ending. Warnings for dubious consent.
