A deeply moving ode to community, instructive and affirming, and shared with generosity, care, curiosity, humour, and conviction. Made my heart swell with love for those I am in community with, and excited me about showing up more and more fully, with openness to learning and sharing and connecting in the sticky, tricky times and the joyful times. I loved this so much.

my dislike might be because i expected something totally different from this book. i really did like the stories told to show that community is earned and is a product of hardship and not just bought or is easy to achieve. but after reading 70% of the book it just felt like that same story was told over and over again. it also got to a point after listening to the audiobook for hours that describing how ~ unique ~ a community can be by naming their skin color, sexuality, ethnicity became kind of .. weird. it read more like a biography tbh
