I really enjoyed this book. I loved the basic premise of a rich man and the gardener's daughter. At times it felt their relationship moved too fast, but I had to remind myself that Barrett had known Emily her whole life so that made it a little easier to swallow. I'll definitely be continuing this series.

Katy Regnery books are beautiful to read. They have so much heart and soul, it is as if you are watching a real life romance unfold. There is a sweet balance of all the feels.

This is one reason why I love this author....her books are feel good reads, the romance is cute and steamy too. Not too much angst like some books leading to overkill.

Great characters and even side characters are developed. Storyline well written.

Everything is wrapped up perfectly.

Ok I have wanted to read this book for a while but I guess I just needed to suck it up and read it and I am so glad I did.

I loved how Emily wasn't scared of Barrett how she looked up to him but never made excuses for his attitude. She made him be a better man that's cliche but she really did. And he did these through out her life to make her life easier I mean SWOON! Who does that? I will tell you who Barrett.

Also I loved her logical side. She could have blown up and taking everything out of context. Stormed out and taken week's to see why he did what he did. Instead she thought it out and talked to him right away about it like ADULTS! God do you know how many books I want to just delete off my kindle because they act so childish when they are ADULTS!

So yeah this is a feel good read one I read fast and wanted more more more!!

I rather enjoyed this story! It immediately had me wanting to move on to the next book in the series!

It had a slight twist in that it was an older male/younger female romance, but it wasn't a "skeezy old man goes for younger trophy wife" type. It was much more endearing than that! It also had a bit of a "Pretty Woman" vibe to it, that I didn't really realize until I sat down to write this review. Having had read the book about Barrett's parents first, I was also able to realize that this story followed a similar vein as that previous one, making it a bit more enjoyable.

I loved how elegant and down to earth Emily was! She knew her "status" wasn't good enough for Barrett, but she was never ashamed of it either, nor did she allow others to shame her about it either. I enjoyed how she challenged Barrett to be a better version of himself, even in breaking up with him.

Barrett, on the other hand, was rather an entitled jerk for most of the book, but we got to witness how Emily's love really changed him, and I appreciated that! We got to see him in a few different roles, and how he reacted to certain situations.

I also liked seeing the supporting family members, and learning a bit about all the families on Blueberry Lane. Having purchased most of these already, I was quite surprised to see just how close they all were!

All things considered, I much prefer the Blueberry Lane series as a whole to the author's Modern Fairytale series, as this one showcases the author's writing style a bit better. I think Katy Regnery has made it onto my Auto-Buy list with this one!

Decent but easy read. Very anti-climactic moment, and was easy to pin point.

Barrett English is known for his ruthless ways in the boardroom, to soften his image he asks childhood neighbor and friend Emily Edwards to pretend to be his fiancee. Emily, a student at University of Pennsylvania agrees to help offset the cost of college. It's not like she and Barrett are intimate, it is all an act, until it's not.

Very fun read, Emily has feelings for Barrett but what she doesn't know is that Barrett has feelings for her. Barrett wears a mask and keeps his feelings carefully hidden, but when he sees the spark of interest from Emily he decides it is time to act on them. Sweet story, can't wait to read more of the English brothers stories.

Had to quit reading after seeing the black chauffeur call the white female lead "Miss Em" even though she's younger than him and they both work for the English family (so they're technically in the same class). Also, the author decided to give him that stereotypical "black southern talk". I definitely didn't read far enough to see if the author provided more black characters with a variety of personalities; however, I doubt it. It's so annoying reading stuff like this in novels.
