I had a whole, long review typed out, but deleted it because it was pretty harsh.
In a nutshell, I hated this book. I think it was meant to be lighthearted and witty, but the story was too cheesy for me, and it came across as mean-spirited and even a little homophobic. It made me angry, and I don’t know why I even finished it.

What a delightful book about hard-pressing human issues. When Libby gets handed two unwanted life-altering events, she needs to realize how and why to work through it. Great humor and nice one-liners. Very well done I thought. I love the title and cover too.

The only things I needed for spiritual redemption were sand and water, authentic Mexican food, and buckets of margaritas.
Well, the publisher doesn't accuse me of being mentally disabled, so that's a start.
I didn't know what to do with myself, so as bitter and medicinal as the (dirty) martini was, I set about drinking it as though each sip would make it more appetizing. Which proved to be true.
Control's an illusion.
Don't look back too much, you know? You're not going that way.
Gotten over? More like developed urinary incontinence and a consortium of ulcers.

I thought this was really good. I don't usually enjoy novels about what to do when life falls apart; however, I found the main character to be an excellent mixture of both sassy and vulnerable. Her struggle to overcome both hardships and her own fear in order to move forward was very realistic and relatable.

Downloaded the audio book on a whim. I like the narrator, and have heard other books she has done, so that's a bonus. It's a sweet story, a little cloying in a few places, a little sad in others. But overall, worth my time.
