Another phenomenal book by Harloe Rae!! I loved Delaney and Decker! I was skeptical about the amnesia angle, but it was beautifully handled! This book hits everything on the emotional spectrum, giving the reader one helluva ride!! It was also great to see glimpses of Grady, Sutton, Jace, and Lacie from Breaker!!

Decker & Delaney

Delaney is the sweet heroine who lost all her previous memories. Decker find Delaney by chance in the hospital. Del was totally hot, totally unobtainable in high school. Now that her memory is wiped clean is it finally Deckers time to shine?

I loved Keeper. This story was much better than Breaker. Decker was super hot , totally swoon worthy. He still kept his bad boy appeal and flirty nature but yet turned up his romance dial to 10 with Delaney. His best friend Erik is still a total tool though and I honestly question why they are friends.

Book quotes:
“Whatcha looking at, Dell?” A singeing flush rushes up my neck. Dammit, I’m totally busted. “Just taking in the scenery.” I send up a silent prayer of gratitude that my voice remains level. “Finding anything good?” I give him another slow once-over, no longer bothering to mask my interest. “The best I can remember.”

Delaney Wallace is lodged in my brain beyond force of reason. She’s my greatest addiction, solid crutch, best influence, and unbreakable habit.

4 flattering butterfly stars!!!

Super sweet second chance romance, and brother’s best friend. This author definitely knows how to to do angst and slow and sweet. I couldn’t believe how much I fell in love with Sutton’s family in such a short time and I loved that we saw the flashbacks of when Sutton and Grady were younger so we could delve more into the reasons of why they had such a strong connection.

Sutton thought going away and finding herself was the only way to get over Grady, and while she did find some new things about herself she never got over him. Her unwavering faith in Grady no matter what was on of her stronger points. She was a really good friend to everyone around her including her brother. I just really enjoyed Sutton’s open and honest character even though she of course had her faults it made her for a more relate-able character.

Grady is so complicated but unbelievably sweet, he thinks he is doing the right thing by letting the only light of his life go away. He grew up on the wrong side of town while Sutton grew up with a silver spoon in her mouth. Even though he was practically taken in by her family he still feels like an outsider, with her, and the town. I really adored how he didn’t want to cross that line with her until he had her brother’s permission it wouldn’t ruin their friendship. It was really nice when his walls started crumbling down.

I am really enjoying this author’s writing style, and I would highly recommend to start reading her soon.

An entertaining story with some interesting twists. While I typically don't love the whole memory loss trope, I think that this story would have been a bit stronger had the heroine regained at least part of her memory. I think that flashback scenes, even just from Decker's POV also would have added layers and richness to the story. But there is a compelling bond between Decker and Delaney that is enjoyable to read. And there is a fair amount of angst, too. I think it's definitely worth a read.

This story was such a great and original story that the prologue sucked me in and I couldn’t stop reading until I was finished with the book. Delaney has been through so much and to wake up alone with no memory of her past was such a heartbreaking thing, then to add to her tragedy her own mother would not even visit or have anything to do with her so Delaney was truly all alone not knowing who she was. Decker was the absolute most perfect book boyfriend I have had the pleasure to read about. Seriously, I thought Grady in Breaker was my man, but Decker has proudly claimed his spot. Decker was a guy that had a past of getting in trouble and not having a care in the world, he always had a crush on Delaney so when he sees her after years in a hospital bed crying he can’t help but to be drawn back to her. Delaney and Decker automatically have chemistry and they fight their attractions for a long time because they are building a beautiful friendship, but a great friendship is the perfect base for a blooming relationship, so I was on the sideline cheering these two on. This story was a beautiful one that took us on a journey of not letting the past define us and learning to start from scratch to build the life we want not the one we thought we should have. I loved everything about Delaney from her brutally honest opinions with no filter to her natural beauty and personality. Once these two decide they can’t just be “pals” all bets are off and they hit the ground running for each other and their happily ever after. I loved how the author drew us in and let us feel the pain that Delaney was going through and the hard tome Decker was having trying to be noble and give up his long time crush on the one girl who always had his heart. I absolutely can not wait for more.

An actual sweet and sexy amnesia small town second chance romance

Decker had a crush on Delaney growing up but she never noticed him and then she moved away. Fate brings them back together after something terrible happens to Dell and Decker sees her in the hospital. He agrees to help her through her amnesia and they become friends but their mutual attraction can only be kept at bay so long... Harloe Rae gives us two great characters with Decker and Delaney. Both of them going against stereotypes and feeling like real people you care about. A real pleasure to read.

Harloe Rae has an outstanding notion for strong female characters, regardless of the backgrounds or the things that they have gone through. Her girls take no prisoners and are always up for the challenge. Her men are always bad-boy sweethearts that can absolutely do no wrong regardless of the things that present themselves from the past or even the present. Everything about her characters are for lack of a better word, Golden

Like most of her stories there is unexpected humour to be found at times, it's gritty and the characters are so very easy to fall in love with. Boy will you ever with this book. I. Can't. Even.
What sets this apart from her other books is simply the story line itself.

I was left devastated and gasping for breath right out of the Prologue. What was gonna happen? What does this even mean? are the only questions I had. And did I ever get an answer.

Delaney has no memory of her past, sure she understands some things and has a lot of knowledge but the personal just isn't there. She doesn't know what her childhood was like, where she went to college or even if she did go. The only thing she does know is that she's back in her home town and shes alone, potentially vulnerable, yet, she is not defeated. Because being all of those things makes for a pretty fierce backbone when you come out the other side of the break, and when Decker walks right into her room on his way to his own mother, well broken pieces you will once again fit together even if that shape is different.

Delaney was/is one of the best female characters I have read written by Harloe. She has a chance to completely reinvent herself, to find who she wants to be on her own terms. Her memory loss doesn't hinder her but seems to make her wings spread wider.

When it comes to her relationship with Decker he is strictly friend-zoned ya know, only until she is comfortable with her new reality.

Decker has been in love, or at least crushing on, Delaney for his entire life. And when she asks him for help, he wont ever turn her down. Decker fast becomes Delaney's best friend, although I get the feeling that once upon a time Delaney was his sisters Best Friend, but that is neither confirmed or denied.

He is her rock, her salvation and she is his.

Together they find their own place in Silo Springs that is separate from what everyone believes they know about them. Cause lets face it assumptions are always wrong.

I think anything could have happened in this book and all the elements that Harloe Rae has dedicated herself to writing would still be there, but this book has all the elements of something new, something intoxicating and no I'm not talking about Decker making a mean alcoholic beverage.

Though this is one Book Boyfriend that I wouldn't object to keeping.
