Good overview of recent events and those who organized during tough times.

I really want this to motivate me or make me feel like I could do something about the state of things. However it was mostly just lengthy regurgitation of stuff we know. Books like this desperately need to take guidance from Timothy Synder “On Tyranny”  and keep themselves to <200 pages. Become a pamphlet.

informative

An interesting collection of stories and anecdotes from the two authors who have many years of experience with organizing.
Not a flaw but made me personally skip forward a few times: since the authors are active in the USA some examples were very specific for the local context and didn't connect with me, but even still most of them were very interesting and I only skipped ahead when something felt repetitive.

Are you angry? I'm angry. I'm furious. I'm so disguisted and sick of a world perpetually on fire, and I am enraged that everyone with any power to ease the burn is either ignoring it or fighting to throw gas on the flames.

I'm so, so mad.

Mariame Kaba and Kelly Hayes have written  a balm for the furious soul. My fires roar just as strongly, but they're not burning me or the people i love as badly. And there's love in some of the flames themselves now too.

Anyway, I highly recommend reading this. Especially if you're angry.
