I really like this series but I’m not sure how to review Wild Game. What I do know I want to convey is: if you’ve made it this far, power through.
I couldn’t get into this book, and didn’t know if I could keep going, but ultimately I did and it got better.

i couldn't continue. the birth control arc was the first initial ick, and then the sexual chemistry with the 2nd and 3rd partner was not there. and the incorporation of the greek gods dragged everything down, and the author got wayyyyy too ambitious with the revolution bit. first book was awesome, 2nd and 3rd destroyed everything engaging about the premise and characters.

❝ I’d happily never speak to anyone else again, if I could just speak to Grace. ❞
I read this way too fast and now it's over.
DECEMBER WHY ARE YOU SO FAR AWAY?
But I digress.

DECEMBER WHY ARE YOU SO FAR AWAY?

Colette's writing gets better with every other book, Wild Game being the most detailed and dynamic in the series so far. I'll always remember and recommend this series, as it introduced me to RH romance.
Our lovely Grace the Agathos explores her third soul bond while the world is literally falling on itself. The relationship between Agathos and Daimons used to be something unspeakable, but they've proven that to be possible, and more and more Agathos' discover their soul bonds to be someone they'd never consider, even in their wildest dreams. Gaia, the Agathos Goddess, does not seem to be pleased with how the world is transforming and how Grace seems to be getting support from other Gods to change the current order. Her power is slipping through her fingers and he'll fight with all her earthy power to remain the greatest and most powerful Goddess in existence. However, she is not realizing how much confidence and faith has Grace gained from embracing her three soul bonds. We might only begin to imagine what a powerful little creature she'll become having all the four bonds with her.
If you are looking for some next-level smut, keep looking. Grace is still pushing her boundaries of comfort in this new situation she found herself in. Not any teachings could have prepared her for Daimon soul bonds, and how they like to play. Where Run Riot, the first book in the series, was intriguing, and where Silver Bullet was explorative, Wild Game is a little experimental. You will not find the confidence you might seek for in some decent smut, all our bonded being new to the family, still a little shy, and most very inexperienced in this whole harem dynamic.
I cannot wait for Dare's book. This I believe will be the level of tension we are all waiting for in this series. I recommend starting with the first book! The world created by Colette is exquisite.

Wild Game is the third book in the State of Grace series. Grace, Riot, Bullet, and Wild are on the run from Gaea, mother goddess of the earth. They’re working to make the world a more equitable place for agathos, daemons, and humans so everyone can live in harmony.
Pros:
- Wild- I think Wild was a good addition and I appreciated his and Bullet’s chemistry when that’s usually missing in a RH romance.
- Greek mythology - Like the last book I think this is an interesting component that I was completely unexpecting.
Cons:
- Fate/Future/Destiny - This part is still conflicting for me. It’s gotten irritating knowing how stuff will loosely play out like the addition of Dare. Which we’ve only seen that “curveball” coming since the first book. It would’ve been more interesting to make Grace’s fourth soul bond someone totally different.
- Sex scenes - If you’re going to put them in, make them interesting. There will just be random blurbs of sex scenes for about 2 pages and they just felt tossed in at will by the author.
I’m giving Wild Game 3 out of 5 stars. I think there’s supposed to be two more books in this series, both of which haven’t been released yet.
