Set in Austin, this was less tasty, for me, than the Baltimore-based novels. And, yet, seeing Tess on her own adds a lot to what the reader knows about her.

The "main" mystery was never really solved or at least it wasn't made important enough for me to remember reading the "solution". The plot was incredibly chaotic and disjointed. I feel like since the first book, the effort put into each book has gone down greatly.

I really like this series. I enjoy the author's writing, and I like the narrator a lot. By the end I was really hoping for Tess and Crow. I guess we'll see where the next one takes us! It's just a lot of drama that she gets herself into. Her job makes the perfect excuse for the most part, but it's still so crazy.

I just didn't find the ending believable. Emmy's craziness and the reason behind the triple murder were not convincing. I don't even feel like I finished the book because it was just so eh at the end.

Tess went on the road to Texas in this one, on a missing persons case. Like the character, I missed Baltimore, too. It was still a fun read, but I'm looking forward to more Charm City in the next one (hopefully).

Another fun installment. I like that Tess seems to be maturing a bit.

I was less fond of this book than the others in the series, partially because there was less of Tess's family in it and Crow was sort of obnoxious. I did find the bits about San Antonio amusing, having lived there for a couple months.
