There's really only one thing that happens, but the talk around it is super intriguing. In general, there is a lot to love, but then of course the end of love is grief, and there is a lot to grieve. It is ultimately a tragedy, and it has that classic lead-up, though its brevity caused all the denouement to happen in about two or three pages, so beware the end. Anyways the characters are great, so deep and distinct. And the dialogue is so active and full of energy. It's a great play even to read, and I want to see it.

I love how timeless this play is!!! It’s such an intriguing story, and I love how it’s embedded in the Ancient Greek culture if when it was written. However, I feel it has more weight than that. This story has been retold and remodelled countless times over the centuries - as recently as 2016! Sorry, but I don’t think anyone can deny how special and amazing that is. The fact that an ancient play is still relevant in today’s society… it makes me feel speechless.

People would do well to read this one, or re-read it as the case may be.

So far in my estimation (and this is not radical per se lol) but THIS and Bacchae truly live up to every accolade as one of the greatest plays ever conceived.
