Antigone will always be an undeniable a masterpiece. 

In this case, I read the Penguin Little Black Classics edition of Robert Fagles' translation. While I do love some of Fagles' translations more than others, I have always found him to be good at having lines be understandable and accessible, while maintaining their impact. That being said, I wouldn't recommend this particular edition to someone who knows has never read Antigone before and isn't familiar with the context. Mainly because there's no footnotes or introduction to explain some of the context and themes to the casual reader.
