LOVE, LOVE Love. I never knew such a thing existed!

This is a wordless story about a boy in the present who sneaks into an old theatre in England chasing his soccer ball. He plays dress up with what he finds and is being silly on stage until all the sudden he is on stage during the performance of Shakespeare and Shakespeare himself is chasing him through the medieval Streets of London. He finds a preforming bear and he and the bear help to free a baron. They have all sorts of adventures together.

It's totally absurd and in no way would be possible for a boy to keep away from an adult that long, but it's such a joy to read. I just loved every minute of it. I loved the theatre, Shakespeare being this madcap menace, the silly bear and the barge on the river. It all wonderful tomfoolery.

I found this bundle of joy on Openlibrary and was not able to share it with the niece and nephew. When the public library opens, I will be getting this book and letting them read it to me. I want to know what they think.

This was a really cute wordless picture book! There was a lot going on in it (more of a wordless comic, given its sequential blocks on each page) but it is easy to understand the story.

I didn't enjoy this as much as The Hero of Little Street (Elizabethan England isn't my thing), but it was still a fun romp through an abandoned theatre into ye olde London.
