I really enjoyed the Maze Runner. I have a whole bookshelf of books I’ve started but not finished yet I read this whole book in one day. It is filled with action and adventure and it is also full of plot twists to keep things engaging.
I also enjoyed the relationships between the characters who often changed theirs opinions about themselves. I would have however liked to see a little more from Teresa (the only female character) who remains pretty mysterious and who doesn’t serve much purpose in the book if not to simply help Thomas. She sort of just goes along with whatever Thomas says and never really states her opinion or gives any input which is a little frustrating.
All in all this is however a very good book and I definitely recommend it.

Premessa: ricordo di aver visto qualche anno fa il film che ne era stato tratto da questo libro ed esso, non mi aveva particolarmente colpito in positivo. A causa di ciò, ero estremamente tentata di eliminare questo volume dalla mia vita, senza neppure leggerlo, ma una parte di me si sentiva in colpa nel compiere quest'azione. Così, quando ho scoperto l'esistenza di quest'opera in forma di audiolibro, ho deciso di approfittarne e l'ho consumata in quella maniera.
Credo che ciò si sia rivelata una scelta vincente, perché la prima metà del libro è poco interessante, in quanto l'unica cosa che ci mostra è il protagonista che cerca di abituarsi alla vita nella radura e ricostruire parte del suo passata.
La seconda metà, a mio parere è più avvincente, in quanto l'azione entra nel vivo e l'atmosfera diventa più tesa.
Il finale rimane abbastanza aperto, cosa che non mi ha permesso di essere completamente soddisfatta dalla conclusione, ma almeno permette al lettore di comprendere maggiormente quale potrebbe essere la trama del romanzo successivo.
In generale, ho trovato l'opera carina, ma al contempo nulla di speciale.
