What is gender? Arai learns he has none but presents as male.  Learning how he has gone and about explored areas of his life with his male partner, I liked many of the stories of his life.  And it's life from an elder. A nice change up from usually reading about the younger years of the community the hard part about it in this volume is that the pacing is slow and characters' images seem to similar to know who is who.  As well as being unable to follow  each chapter due to planning

So many mixed feelings about this. Liked how honest the mangaka was and was just him exploring the many thoughts that have crossed his mind now that he's getting older and trying to figure out what feels good to him as an older trans person. I do think there's just several cultural differences that made me tilt my head because there's some context i know I'm missing and sone parts that maybe got lost in translation or something! But between that and the same-y paneling throughout the entire book it was a bit of a slog to get through which is a shame because i really wanted to like it! the age gap and obvious power imbalance between the mangaka and his partner ( and the other couple who were interviewed ) made me reaaally uncomfy. like i kept being like...there's no way he syarted dating him before he was 21 right??? right??? i haven't done the math but it still felt weird esp with the last mini section having a couple who have an incest kink 😭😭😭😭😭

last complaint is...the racist octopus lips. when will ppl stop doing that. if you can care about trans ppl you can care about black/brown ppl 😭

Really funny! An enjoyable read about a journey of self-discovery from someone who is now comfortable in his own skin.

Not sure if it’s the translation, the cultural differences, or something else, but it has some very odd perspectives and phrasing.

DID NOT FINISH: 15%

Age difference between mc and partner made me uncomfortable. If they met when the partner was a full grown adult then it would be fine. But they met when the mc was 30 and there is a "15 year age difference".
