Things I wish I could unread: This. I wish people would stop recommending me Chris Evans fanfiction
Really sweet story. I loved the uniqueness and authenticity of the characters. It was so enjoyable to read from the lens of a less mainstream MC, and to have her special aspects be integral to her person not just in name only.
It might be my recent historical romance kick, but the social media focus wore on me after a while. I knew this was about an influencer, but I didn’t realize the central conflict and many of the relationships would be IG-based as well. My own issue, for sure.

Unapologetically millennial in the cringiest, worst, most unfunny way.
Crystal (the main character) is immediately unlikeable because of her hypocrisy. I don’t care that she’s plus sized, she claims to spread self love and not judging others through her “business” (she’s an Instagram influencer with 250k followers) despite constantly judging other people.
Oh no, her ex cheated on her with his previous girlfriend, so she doesn’t want to be a rebound. Crystal admits that’s she’s had plenty of hookups but as soon as Scott (the love interest) claims he wants to date her and had broken up with his girlfriend weeks ago, she’s “still too traumatised from the ex” and won’t be his rebound.
There is too many tropes in this book that don’t serve the plot other than word padding.
Eg SPOILER Martin “might” have cancer so he tells Scott to not tell Crystal to not tell Flo (convoluted? Fuck yes) So Crystal goes from adoring Scott and trusting him implicitly to immediately believing he’s lying to her about everything.
This book took me over a month to read. That’s not because I hate reading. I love it, and finished like nine other books in that time frame. I just hate this one in particular.
I have the absolute pleasure of owning a digital copy so that if anyone comes to my house and asks about my bookshelves, they will never have to go through my recount of this horror. I would prefer living through Dante’s Inferno than to ever reread this.
PS Scott has green eyes. If you don’t believe me, pick a random page and you’ll have a 99% chance of reading that exact sentence.

started strong but in the end the banter was subpar, unenjoyable third act & not enough smut HA!

If you love going to the gym this might be the romance for you, otherwise it's a tad unrelateable.
A little cliche and predictable but still a fun read with a good message.
