I really, really wanted to like this, and I did; but for some reason, I felt like there was something off the whole time. This was my first omegaverse book that wasn't a fanfiction (lol), so I had high hopes for it and-- while I thought the FMC was badass and hot and the MMC was super cute but also still badass, there was a constant red flag going off in the back of my head. Adam never really truly got a say in anything-- he may have initiated it in the beginning on purpose, but every decision was made without his say for a lot of the choices made, and I didn't love that. I understand that it's a fairly common trope in omegaverse stories, but it's never been one of my favorites.
About 1/3 of the way through a sort of RH dynamic became introduced, which I was not expecting at all (I should have expected it, since it's in the book description, but I just didn't read). It was actually a nice surprise, as I really enjoyed the addition of the new characters and I loved the dynamic that the five of them all had-- especially with the FMC, Eve, who is an alpha in all senses of the word, and I love her.

I'm a quitter this week apparently. I don't like the relationship dynamics of this though, so...pass.
5 stars
Eve — what a stone cold badass! I didn’t think I’d be that interested in her story after she was introduced in Lola & The Millionaires, but this book was such a winner.
I really enjoyed the gender switch, with Eve as the contract killer alpha and Adam as the omega she’s been hired to take out. Except he cons her into biting him, which does *not* make her immediately go gaga over him (see title).
What especially worked for me was how the main characters (including Garrett, Rory and Jamie, the 3 other alphas in the story) were all distinct, and they weren’t defined by their designation. I loved all the different relationship dynamics and how they fit into each other’s lives without needing to undergo drastic changes.
Kathryn Moon just excels at omegaverse reverse harem romances. One of the only authors who can make me feel invested in ALL of the pairings/trios, instead of having obvious favourites.
