Finishing off the story that was started in the last collection, I wasn't expecting a lot, to be honest. Blah blah, they'd figure out how to kill the thing that's killing the children, blah blah, they'd kill it.

Boy, was I wrong.

This was utterly fantastic, probably the best arc of the series so far.

First read, last night: Holy fucking violently violent, Batman.

Today after rereading Volume 6: OMG VOLUME 7 IS SO GOOD. First of all, the Cutter situation devolves so brilliantly. The mirror breaking spread? OH MY. The [nospoilersXXXX] of the Duplicity. The whole horse / bows / arrows = just brilliant comic relief plus more of backstory with Jessica, Cecilia and Gary. The setup of the next arc is awesome because I am happy that [nospoilersXXXX] will continue in the series although I will definitely miss [nospoilersXXXX]. The art in this volume is GORGEOUS. It's all about the RED coming in and taking over spreads this time around.

Wow. Just continue to be completely in love with this series.

Gabi annoyed me immensely throughout this volume, but apart from her, the writing and the art were still top notch.

This is the conclusion of the Cutter storyline. It's both satisfying and bittersweet. I wouldn't recommend starting with this volume. These do need to be read in order from the very beginning for full enjoyment. The artwork is savagely gorgeous.

**I received an eARC via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. (But ended up reading this in print because I definitely overestimated my eyeball's ability to read a graphic novel on a small phone screen)**

This volume contains (31-35), specifically the "Showdown at the Easy Creek Corral" storyline.

This volume surrounds the built up three-way-showdown between monster hunter Erica Slaughter, Charlotte Cutter and the Duplicitype that has taken Erica's form, slaughtering and tarnishing the good reputation that Erica had in Tribulation.

As always, there are true consequences in Tynion's horror (not everyone gets to walk away free or calmly into the sunset) which will definetly influence the next few years of this story.
