A revealing, if not unsurprising, look into the oppressed, anemic lives of North Koreans. This ought to be required reading for those who love government, who think that having power consolidated in the hands of a few or one person is a good idea. Freedom is worth having, keeping, and fighting for. The Kim family dynasty and those who support it make me sick. Unfortunately there are much more dire consequences for those unfortunate North Koreans who live under their tyranny.
Everyone should read this book. We have no idea what goes on in North Korea. We are so blessed in the USA.

An easy-to-read and humbling book about ordinary lives of some North Korean defectors. The descriptions of life in North Korea remind us of worlds that we forget to pay attention to, of realities we simply ignore due to the lack of contact with the gloablized side of the world.
