I got most of the way through this book about eight years ago and didn’t like it. Now, after reading all of Sanderson’s extant Stormlight Archive books, and his three-volume finish to the Wheel of Time series, I decided to give Mistborn another go.

It’s hard to write about a city under siege and make it interesting. By the very nature of a siege, not much is happening. That may be what soured me on this book before. But when things start happening, as they do when you near the end of the book, much tedium is forgiven. It’s a rousing finish which opens up enough new mysteries to make you want to tear into the third book of the trilogy.

Heel leuk boek. had alleen gehoopt dat het bepaalde themas/problemen iets complexer maakte. Voelt soms wel een beetje te simpel allemaal

I preferred the first book but there were some really enjoyable parts in this book too. Brandon Sanderson is a master at writing fight scenes, dang.

Not so keen on the teenaged angst love stuff, nor that the first several chapters spent way too much time trying to recap what happened in first book, in a not so subtle/elegant way. Still, these are minor complaints, it's a very good book!

The way this man will leave me confused for 600 pages and then have me absolutely gagged in the last 200 pages SHOULD. BE. A. CRIME. I struggled a lot with the pacing of this book but honestly the last 300 pages made it so worth it, I feel like I can’t complain.

I am OBSESSED with Vin she is such a wonderfully bold character, and her coming of age story has got me feeling all of the things.

I think I enjoyed the first book more purely because there was less political warfare but if you haven’t started this series I highly recommend, it’s such high stakes, the character are multi-faceted, and the world is just brilliant.

I think the third book is going to absolutely devastate me so wish me luck

Increible. Como todo lo que escribe Sanderson. Me pareció algo tedioso todo el principio, sobre todo por la politica, pero todo cobra sentido hacia el final, y tiene un giro tremendo que te deja con el corazón en la boca y cientos de preguntas!
