This book is so full of stupid teenage mysticism that I was hoping until the very end it would be about growing out of your teenage mystic phase. It only got more ridiculous.

Este libro es inexplicable. Es de esos que hay que leerlos porque para cada quien tiene enseñanzas diferentes.
Dentro de cada persona hay un santo y un diablo, y está bien, y hay que alimentar a ambos.
No me malentiendan, solo hasta que lo lean verán porqué hay que reconocer ambas partes en uno mismo. Ya que lo lean entenderán a que se refiere Hesse con eso del "diablo" ;)

This early work of Hesse's is more accessible than Siddhartha and Das Glasperlenspiel, partly because the author explores religious/ethical content that is more familiar to me, partly because the book is written in first person and--for much of the book--from the POV of a child. Unfortunately, even though I found the content less challenging that other works by Hesse, I did not think too much of what Demian had to say.
