5/5 sin ninguna duda. Brillante, desgarrador y profundamente humano.
It was back in 2016 when I first heard of this book and took me more than a year to get to read it! Getting into a classic can get a bit intimidating for me! I somehow always thought that classics won't be understood by the younger me. But as I read this one, I digress.
In the first half of this book(actually for 70% of the book) , if someone had to ask me the definition of "realistic writing" this book would have been my answer. The story is straight forward, genuine and relatable even after the book being almost a century old.!
The last part is a bit philosophical fiction if I may call it that! I don't know! But it pushes the reader to understand the importance of self-realization throughout the entire book.
I can see the story inspiring a lot of modern fiction and is timeless in its message!
Personally it felt thought provoking and very much understandable (I read the American edition published in 1960).Especially liked the first half and it kept me engrossed!

los hombres se unen porque tienen miedo los unos de los otros ¿y por qué tienen miedo? solo se tiene miedo cuando se está en disensión consigo mismo. Tienen miedo porque nunca se han reconocido a sí mismos.
amé mucho la onda mística de los personajes de Demian y sobretodo Frau Eva. Este libro me hizo recordar sentimientos de infancia y adolescencia, cuando en mi mente yo solo había sido un personaje en modo automático. Lindo darse cuenta que uno también experimentaba cosas intensas en el mundo interno de las cuales no era muy consciente.

¿Le habría puesto esa nota si no fuera de Inés? No. Pero leerlo creo que me ha hecho conocer más de ella, y sigue siendo una de las cosas más bonitas que me he llevado a Suecia conmigo, tengo mucha suerte.
