This was pretty heartwarming, sometimes you're in the mood for more whimsical middle-grade fantasy!
This book ... wow.
Willow Moss is a young witch who is always worrying about the fact that her powers (finding lost things) are much tamer than her sisters, and not very useful. That is until Moreg Vaine, the most powerful witch in Starfell asks for her help in locating a lost day.
This book is a little slow to get going but once it does, I was completely hooked. I thought this book had a really good strong set of morals and was beautifully written. I even had a little sob towards the end - In fact I would give the ending alone 5 stars!

I really enjoyed the writing and the characters. Willow is an adorable character who you can't help loving. Quite downtrodden at home by her more powerful sisters, she's actually so brave and determined and ready to save the day.
It was a really lovely story. I liked the ending, though I feel it was a bit unfinished in some aspects, I suspect they may get picked up in later books.

This tale was an utterly delightful middle grade fantasy adventure story. Fun magic, a ragtag group of friends saving the world, and plenty more places and plot threads to explore in future installments. 4.5 stars.

Really enjoyed the audiobook, the cover and inside illustrations made me pick up a paperback copy too.
Really looking forward to Willow's next adventure.

If someone tells you that children's books can't deal with grief, with loss, with discrimination, with learning to value yourself despite your abusive family, point them to this book and say "They can do all that and still keep the dragons."
