This book sort of epitomizes why I like middle grade fantasy over YA fantasy:

1. There are 96.4% fewer secret princesses vying for power they don't want,

2. The dragons are much less bitey.

3. The heroines are less likely to forget everything they ever learned because they're busy flirting with some prince.

Instead, you get a ragtag group of critters all with perfectly valid motivations for joining up, adults who aren't evil or stupid, and worldbuilding with just the right amount of danger and wonder.

Also, you find out what happens if someone kidnaps a day. Always a bonus.

Read- April 2020 for The O.W.Ls (History of Magic- book featuring wizards/witches)
- I actually enjoyed this more than I thought I would. I didn't have a lot of expectations going into it but I genuinely enjoyed this. I love Willow as a main character and I can't wait to carry on reading about her in the second book.
