Graphic novel with simple doodles of a depressed woman biking from Arizona to Georgia. Lots of encounters with boarder patrol. Didn’t complete the trip in the end but still did a huge distance. Liked the large horizon drawings that take up two pages

A thoughtful book on the goals we set to ourselves and how we manage to cope with physical and emotional pain. A book on mental health.

My third Eleanor Davis? Didn't even realize this had been released, although looking back, it looks like this was first released as paperback in 2017 but not released in hardcover (by Fantagraphics) until this summer. Very quick, entertaining read, recapping a bike trip from Tucson, Arizona to Athens, Georgia. Found myself fascinated with the whole concept, the work it took, the route she traveled, what she saw.

A wonderful memoir of a very challenging journey self-inflicted by the author. It's admirable and I'm grateful to reading about the experience of a cross-country biking adventure rather than living it myself (my ass never learned to ride a bike).
