"wether free or incarcerated, women were not safe anywhere. since the dawn of time, they had been the victims of decisions that were taken without their consent."

the execution of this book was much different than I expected but I very much enjoyed it. the way the treatment of women and the ignorance towards actually learning about women's bodies were portrayed made me feel so angry. unfortunately, the ignorance towards and treatment of women's bodies and mind is still a problem today. and I can only hope like eugénie that things will change. 

apparently there's also a movie based on this book, so maybe I'll look it up and watch it.
